Sponsorship
Planning the Symposium has required considerable effort from many, and it will take a few thousand dollars to make this special event happen. Here is where you can help….
Sponsorship of the Symposium is easy. Sign up for any level of support – all are welcome. In fact, small amounts are at least as important as large amounts because of the encouragement they provide to others – and the cumulative effect of many small contributions can add up dramatically.
$500 or more: Institutional Sponsor of the Symposium
$100 or more: Individual Sponsor of the Symposium
$25 or more: Friend of the Symposium
$10 or more: Symposium Buddy
Sign up for any level of support – all are welcome. Small contributions can mean a lot by encouraging others and adding up. As James himself said, even "molecular moral forces that work from individual to individual" can penetrate "the crannies of this world like so many soft rootles" (1899, Correspondence of William James, Volume 8, University Press of Virginia, 2000, p. 546 – some volumes are still available at a greatly reduced cost).

The closest parking to Symposium events on August 16, 2010 in Cambridge is Harvard's Broadway garage (Harvard abbreviation: BWYG), which is open 7am to midnight; it is located at 7 Felton (a one-way street: enter from Cambridge to Felton; exit from Felton to Broadway), between the Fogg and the Sackler.
To purchase a permit, go in person to Harvard Parking Services, 46 Blackstone, Cambridge, MA 02139, open M-F 8-5 (permits can be purchased up to August 16), or online via the Harvard University Operations Services web site (up to two weeks before). A one-day parking permit for $12 is available a month in advance of the Symposium (parking at Broadway garage is on a space-available basis: the lot at 52 Oxford is a second choice). When purchasing the permit, you may use a credit card, and you will be asked, "which department?” Unless connected to Harvard, the answer is "visitor to campus, code number 7700."
